The Family's First Outing- to the roof patio

It's hard to believe (for us at least) that Mateo is already two weeks old. It's been an amazing experience for us, tiring for sure, but indescribably rewarding and awe-inspiring. Over the past two days, we've been taking Mateo out on brief outings so that he and Anita could get some sunshine and fresh air. This last photo was taken up on our roof deck, where we have a great view of downtown San Francisco and the bay. Yesterday we took Mateo for a short walk around our local community park, giving Anita a good opportunity to try out our new Ergo baby carrier. Today, Jesse's mother will be heading back to Woodstock (his dad left yesterday), and Anita, Jesse, and Mateo will be alone as a family for the first time. We look forward to visits from our local friends over the next few weeks.

Thanks so much to all of you who have emailed and called us over the past two weeks. We are sorry that we haven't been able to get back to you each in person, but we hope this blog is keeping you adequately updated for the time being, and we eventually hope to see or talk to you all.
