Mateo and Maya ride a tractor

Anita and Mateo got together with friends at Jen's family's cabin in Clear Lake to celebrate Thanksgiving while Jesse stayed back home frantically preparing for his upcoming job interviews. A highlight for Mateo was getting to "ride" on Jim's big tractor with Maya.

Mateo LOVES, LOVES, LOVES his trains (only slightly less than dinosaurs). Typically the tracks span the entire living room. Here he is overseeing his domain while eating an apple.

Halloween!

This halloween we went down to Paso Robles, to visit Anita's dad, stepmom and stepbrothers and to celebrate small-town style. Mateo seemed pretty lukewarm about the whole holiday (and nearly missed trick-or-treating because of an extra long nap). But once he realized there was candy involved, he was very enthusiastic. As parents, we're proud to say that he even learned to say "thank you."
